MSc Study Week: the rest

As well as the field trip to Daedalus and the brick-laying workshop both full-time and distance-learning students have been attending a number of guest lectures and revision sessions.

The guest lecture on Tuesday was given by Professor John Uff QC, an expert in Construction Law. His lecture highlighted the work of FIDIC (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils or the International Federation of Consulting Engineers) - for more information have a look at the FIDIC website. All the students attended a session on Building Information Modelling (BIM) given by Joe Tah, Professor in Project Management, a facilitated session on Negotiation given by Stephen Mortimer (Chartered Building Surveyor) and a session on Town and Country Planning with Phil Turner, Senior Lecturer in Real Estate Management and Planning. There were also a number of sessions dedicated to the needs of the distance-learning students.

Click on the green links for more information on any of these subjects and have a look at the post on Low Impact Buildings for more informantion on Joe Tah's research on BIM.

And finally, the Group Dinner on the last night. Photos by Charlotte Morgan the PMBE Programme Administrator.
